Quality Control Job Description
Position Summary:
The Quality Control person is responsible to ensure compliance of our quality system and be (or become) familiar with FAA regulations as it pertains to aircraft parts and components.
Quality Control Primary Duties/Position Responsibilities:
- Continuously maintain quality system
- Conduct annual internal quality audits; liaison with the accreditation organization and the FAA for quality system compliance, reporting, and audits
- Conduct incoming and outgoing inspection of paperwork and parts (when required with hand measuring tools such as Micrometers, calipers, etc)
- Recognize critical characteristics, dimensions, and inspection features, ensuring that products are manufactured in accordance with design data and documented appropriately
- Review and maintain all drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Review, maintain and update Quality System Manual.
- Report quality updates and improvement recommendations to Management
- Maintain approved supplier list.
- Conduct review and disposition of nonconforming materials and report to MRB. Document Cause & Corrective Action reports
- Perform light shipping and receiving duties
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
* Read, write and communicate clearly in the English Language
* High school diploma or equivalent
* 3 years of quality experience
* Proficient with Microsoft office, especially Outlook & Excel
* Follow instructions with minimal supervision
* Work independently or as part of a small team (3-4)
* Strong multi-tasker
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
* High energy level, solid work ethic, positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
* Aviation industry aftermarket experience - Aircraft parts, standard practices and procedures within the Aviation Industry; familiarity with the FAR’s
* FAA-PMA experience
* SolidWorks aptitude a strong plus
* Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9120 and ASA standards; Specification ATA106
* Familiarity with CMMs, IPC’s, ILS, SBs, AD’s etc
* Familiar with standard drawing convention, GD&T, specifications, work instructions, marking and labeling
* Understand traceability documentation, such as 8130-3 Maintenance Release forms, EASA Form 1, etc
