Job Summary:
The Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with the Corporate Controller and must have strong accounting and tax knowledge. They will be the primary support and liaison for all tax matters impacting the Company. These include taxes matters for federal, state, foreign, property, sales, VAT, GST, PST, and all other matters with tax authorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Possess an understanding of various tax concepts, general accounting principles, financial reporting, and a working knowledge of PC-based accounting software.
Complete monthly, quarterly, yearly close activities including Sales Tax filings, VAT Tax filings, GST/PST Tax filings, Federal and State tax support, and Special Tax Projects.Perform account analysts as required for tax compliance.Coordinates with external tax consultants regarding the preparation of tax compliance including, supporting schedules, management of tax projects and deadlines, and federal, state, and local tax audits.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for tax account and pursue resolution of any outstanding itemsMaintain journal entry posting.
Perform compliance filings with the Secretary of StateProvide support to the finance team on any tax related issues and best practices (e.g., taxability of revenue streams, exemption verification and documentation).Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or taxation preferred.CPA preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum of four (4) years of related, professional accounting, finance, or tax experience.Public accounting or equivalent large corporation tax department experience.
Must have working knowledge of state and federal income tax compliance rules.
Large multi-state corporation tax experience preferred.Strong experience with MS Excel expected, including formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups.
