What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at Ajilon?
An established manufacturing supplier in the greater Milwaukee area is currently seeking a Commodity Buyer for their Purchasing group. This organization is a leading supplier of manufacturing materials in North America and an industry leader in their respective product line. Candidates must have 2 years experience in the industry and a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, or related field. Responsibilities:
- Develop new product sourcing strategies representative of cost, quality and delivery considerations and effectively communicate messaging to internal procurement and cross functional management team.
- Assist management in development of Buyers by offering guidance, advice and expertise in mentoring role.
- Work closely with other functional areas and the manufacturing plants to establish an effective supply base
- Formulate annual business plan for achievement of cost reductions and year over year performance improvement.
- Responsible to build and manage internal and external supplier relationships.
- Manage and negotiate supplier agreements that require improvements in supplier cost, quality, delivery, and lead time
- Analyze market trends and commodity pricing trends to negotiate optimal pricing
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management or related field required.
- 2 years of Buying or directly related purchasing experience required
- Prior manufacturing purchasing, sourcing, and procurement experience
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift 5 days a week (40 hrs)
