Purpose/Summary
The Maintenance (Facilities) performs day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. This position installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, central vacuum, dust collection, safety, and waste management. Completes facilities service requests and ensures requests are completed within established timelines and quality standards. Performs preventative maintenance on specified equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Completes installation and maintenance of plant equipment including utility systems, waste treatment plant, boilers, chillers, air compressors and HVAC systems.
- Participates in Kaizen activities that recommends improvements.
- Periodically could work outside maintenance services and ensures safe work practices are adhered.
- Ensures compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in rotational after hours On-Call schedule.
- Participate in holiday shutdown maintenance activities.
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
- HVAC certification is required, compressed air certification is a plus. Minimum of 3 years work related experience in an industrial environment.

- Basic methods and practices used in the maintenance, repair and operations of commercial buildings and properties
- Plan, assign, manage and coordinate assigned elements of a facilities maintenance and repair and operational support program, including warehouse operations.
- Define issues, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives and develop sound, independent conclusions and recommendations in accordance with laws, regulations, rules and policies.
- Organize, set priorities and exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
- Work independently.
- Must demonstrate attendance sufficient to complete the duties of the position as required.

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
Physical Demands/Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand walk/move; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
