Aker Solutions, located in Mobile, Alabama is seeking to add to their local People & Organization team. We are looking to add a People & Organization (HR) Generalist.

This is an on-site position at our manufacturing and engineering facilities.

You must be able to work without work authorization assistance now or in future.

What will you be doing?

Essential Functions:

• Ensure local compliance to HR procedures and tools for assigned client groups
• Assist management and employees with respect to HR processes and tools
• Serve as a first contact for HR-related needs by responding to incoming employee inquiries, emails, and telephone calls
• Provide comprehensive transactional/life cycle support and coordination as needed associated with onboarding, orientation, internal mobility, relocation, immigration, offboarding, and more while working independently and as part of a team, and escalating issues when necessary
• Perform new employee orientation and ensure complete onboarding of all employees and contractors to include welcome gifts, new hire paperwork, and post-hire programs.
• Work closely with employees, managers, the HR team, and external contacts to provide exceptional customer service, efficient handling of requests, and subject matter expertise
• Determine and address needs of employees, management, and staff; responds promptly to inquiries
• Organize and conduct employee information meetings and serve as support for ESG initiatives
• Serve as payroll backup and assists with payroll and data entry as required
• Provide support as needed related to the administration of benefit offerings, including rewards and recognition
• Audits, process, and conduct diligence (as needed) on vendor invoices and foster positive relationships with HR vendors

We think you should have:

Minimum Qualifications (BFOQ):

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, OD or equivalent years of experience
• 5 years of experience in HR operations, transactions and processes to include payroll and benefits experience
• Broad knowledge of Human Resources-related laws, regulations, and policy as well as experience with innovative human resources-related programs and initiatives
• Experience interacting with and maintaining confidential information
• Experience using business/software tools and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Strong customer focus and results orientation
• Good organization, detail orientation and overall time management skills
• Demonstrated competency for handling multiple competing tasks and deadlines
• Good judgment with the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive, respectful team
• Willingness to freely share information, knowledge and provide support
• Effective, tactful, and thoughtful communication both one-on-one and in a group setting
