POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the smooth functioning of the Rotary Camp development department, is responsible for coding donations, writing acknowledgements, assisting with special events, and other duties that support the development department and executive director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assists the Development department with initiatives including:
- Processing donations accurately and writing gift acknowledgement letters
- Preparing thank you letters and mailing in a timely manner
- Database and records management – managing, updating databases and files as needed
- Growing and maintaining comprehensive mailing lists of donors, prospects and volunteers for various communications
- Working with staff to organize and coordinate event details and logistics
- Preparing materials for various campaigns
- Attend planning meetings as necessary
- Ensure the electronic deposits are balanced monthly and forwarded to accounting
- Assist with supporting Rotary Club of Akron through various administrative duties, including check-in at weekly Rotary Lunch meetings and reconciling cash/credit cards, as necessary
- Take minutes at bi-monthly board meetings
- Complete document filing as necessary for the office
- Answer telephones and direct to appropriate individuals
- Support professional staff as best able with various projects
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings and association events
- Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to communicate verbally to groups and individuals.
- Must be able to accurately count cash and make deposits to the bank.
- Must have strong organizational, administrative, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in accounting and office procedures as well as calculator and computer skills in Microsoft Office (word, excel, etc.) and possess a willingness to learn software applications including DAXKO Operating system and Blackbaud’s eTapestry.
- Meet all deadlines.
- Must report to work as scheduled.
