SUMMARY:
At Alabama Goodwill Industries (AGI), our Mission is to help change lives through the power of work. Our programs are supported by profits generated through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores.
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Operations, the TLC is responsible for all aspects of the efficient and cost-effective operation of the Outlet Store and Warehouse while embracing AGI's guiding principles and core values.
To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the Outlet workforce and location through the security of corporate assets, customer relations, sale of donated goods, inventory controls, and accurate transactions, to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities. Also, provides direction, job training, and support of Outlet team members concerning the proper and safe handling of goods, leading to increased revenues for mission services funding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs, manages, and coordinates after-market resale operations in the Outlet and ensures appropriate operational systems and human resources are in place to generate maximum profitability.
- Hires, trains, develops, supervises, and evaluates team members within the framework of AGI policies and procedures and job descriptions.
- Develops, trains, and supervises operations leadership, ensuring they can achieve the goals set forth by AGI.
- Operates the Outlet and Warehouse team within budgeted expense-to-revenue ratios.
- Ensures that the promotion, collection, transportation, production, sales, and external/internal distribution of donated products, and related operational and sales activities are properly integrated to achieve maximum profitability and quality customer service.
- Ensures good stewardship of all donations, through proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the GGC and warehouse in accordance with AGI policies and procedures.
- Schedules/maintains labor and payroll in accordance with AGI policies and procedures.
- Responsible for image, maintenance, loss prevention, safety, and security of the GGC and warehouse in accordance with AGI policies and procedures.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and all other AGI property in a secure manner in accordance with established budget and practices.
- Performs assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles and Core Values.
- Attends in-service and related training as assigned by Operations Leadership.
- Directs the daily activities of Outlet team members to maintain consistent processing of all Outlet materials meeting production and safety standards.
- Coordinates loads and maintains accurate inventory control of goods.
- Manages daily pre-work meetings with the Outlet team, to provide team members with information regarding AGI, ensuring compliance with various regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, and overall, AGI policies and operating standards.
- Inspects facility and Outlet equipment to ensure a good company image and safe working environment supported by the Safety department.
- Ensures all trucks and trailers containing Outlet goods are manifested and sealed upon receipt.
- Ensures the safety and image of the loading dock, Outlet areas, and warehouse. All are expected to be clean, neat, and safe at all times.
- Instructs team members in the offload and on-load methods and all other procedures to instill a service-conscious attitude and minimize service failures and injuries. Trains, develops, and motivates the workforce.
- Assists Operations leadership with all contingency procedures, and SOP's required to assure an operational on-time fleet. Ensures safety programs are implemented and maintained. Interacts with various departments, to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
- Attends all required AGI Meetings and Training.
- Provides communication and feedback to Operations leadership and Transportation for training, safety, employee retention, productivity, and service goals as directly related to the processing of Outlet commodities, and the Outlet Store operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of post-retail and management of a business experience including national multi-location responsibility preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience managing and negotiating with vendors preferred.
- At least 3 - 5 years of management / supervisory experience in a business (retail) setting, preferred.
- At least 3 - 5 years of management / supervisory experience in a warehouse, or production setting, preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing a group of individuals engaged in transportation or distribution, preferred.
- Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
- General logistics practice.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments required.
- Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects as required by the job.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team leaders, team members, customers, and clients.
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
