Position Summary:
Under general supervision, review production schedules and confirm materials are on hand for next day's production. Identify and resolve material shortages. Track work orders, Maintain schedule status in real time. Update production control boards. Develop cell specific schedules and verify work orders align with schedule.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Physically verify and document daily output by department and work cell and develop daily reporting to convey the information.
- Properly report in process scrap.
- Coordinate material availability to support cell schedules.
- Track and maintain schedule reliability.
- Maintain schedule to ensure it is represented in real time or as close to real time as possible
- Communicate schedule adjustments to production personnel.
- Report scheduling problems to Supervisor, department lead or Plant Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
- Experience in Alamo products and a general understanding of inventory control.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of production validation in JDE.
- Self-motivated and self-starter
- Computer data entry, retrieval and analysis skills.
- Good knowledge of plant products and manufacturing processes, or the ability to acquire it quickly.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to communicate with various levels within the organization.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints.
- Ability to enter, maintain, and generate accurate data and reports
- Able to handle multiple tasks/activities, prioritize own work and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.
- Ability to organize and maintain inventory locations such as part racks and shelving areas.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of experience performing material handling responsibilities required.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 pounds alone and greater than 35 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) as required by tasks being completed.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including hearing/eye protection, gloves and safety shoes.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed to complete job assignments.
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant environment.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to tolerate heights.
- Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing as required by tasks being completed (8 hours per day).
