Maintenance Manager:
Job Summary
As the Maintenance Manager you will direct and organize the maintenance team to ensure optimal functionality of building systems, equipment, and operations. This involves overseeing repairs, preventative maintenance, and compliance with safety standards. You will play a key role in budgeting and resource management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Accomplishes maintenance and human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Prepares weekly maintenance schedules and allocates work.
Supervises and trains maintenance technicians on the proper use of all systems and equipment.
Keeps systems and equipment running by administering tests, making repairs, acquiring and installing necessary replacement parts, and creating a program for regular maintenance.
Inspects facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
Inspects and maintains building systems (heating, ventilation, etc.).
Supports Company Safety Program and helps drive needed changes.
Tracks and communicates all safety issues, incidents, and near misses.
Keeps work environment healthy and safe for all employees by ensuring everyone follows company procedures and standards.
Reports major problems with machinery and downtime.
Contributes to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
Monitors inventory of materials and equipment.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years experience in repair and/or adjustment and/or set-up of production equipment and/or one year experience as a Machine Operator.
- Minimum of three years experience as a Maintenance Manager preferably in an industrial environment.
- Minimum of one year in maintenance planning and/or scheduling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including bending, repetitive motion, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule for overtime and weekends.
Ability to work independently or in a team atmosphere.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Willingness to be accountable for the level of quality produced.
Manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, reading and comprehension.
Ability to determine mechanical priorities.
Displays a positive attitude.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
