The Alaska Carpenters Training Trust is now accepting applications for the 2021 Anchorage apprenticeship programs for Carpenters and Pile Drivers. Applications will be accepted until October 22, 2021 with carpentry classes beginning on November 8, 2021 and pile drivers beginning March 14, 2022.
The apprenticeship programs are 4 years (5,200-7,000 hours) in length. Apprentices must go to school in Anchorage for 160-240 hours each year and receive pay raises every 875 - 1,300 hours of apprenticeship. There is no fee to apply and the apprenticeship program pays for all tuition and training costs; however, apprentices may have to pay for their books, tools, and travel expenses. Wages are not paid while attending classroom instruction. Financial assistance may be available for those that qualify.
In order to be officially considered, the following MUST be submitted (resumes not accepted):
· Completed Application: www.alaskacarpenterstraining.org
· Be at least 18 years of age or turn 18 by the start of class
· Alaska resident for a minimum of 30 days prior to the closing date of deadline. Proof required
· Copy of high school diploma/GED
· High school transcripts
· Copy of Alaska driver’s license
· Social security card
· Submit to, and pass, a drug and alcohol screening
