Scope
Coordinate and support activities for the EHS/HR Departments
- Studies and analyses industrial accident causes and health hazards for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
- Formulates general safety policies and measures to be followed by company or plant personnel.
- Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs.
- Inspects or tours company facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommends corrective or preventive measures where indicated.
- Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidences for company use in hearings, law suits and insurance investigations. Compiles and submits required OSHA accident reports (i.e., OSHA 300 Log).
- Devises, supervises and coordinates training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
- Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences and exhibitions.
- Represents the company in community or industry safety groups and programs.
- Assists in the establishment and administration of special safety drives or campaigns.
- Supervises the plant Industrial Hygiene Program..
- Manages the Workers’ Compensation program including investigation and maintenance of all files and correspondence.
- Supervises Medical Therapy Program
- Manages the physician examination program, EAP and drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Supervises the plant Return to Work Program for Workers’ compensation cases.
- Prepare weekly reports for employee status changes and reports for Accounting. Prepare all forms for employee hiring, terminations, layoffs and recalls. Ensure that data in the computer Employee Information System for active and retired employees is updated and accurate. Prepare various logs and reports on accredited service. Generate computer reports as required.
- Arrange for pre employment physicals and assist in Human Resource orientation for newly hired employees.
- Types all materials for Human Resources Department and other departments as necessary.
- Coordinates plant recreation programs, posting notices, selling tickets, expense reports. etc.
- Coordinates plant uniform and shoe programs. Orders and maintains records.
- Maintains plant bulletin boards.
- Managing the call off tape, the dashboard attendance, the discipline log, and handing out verbal orders.
- Manage hourly vacations
- Support site compliance with Federal, State and Local laws in the areas of EHS
- Monitor compliance with MSOT program and Tool Box topics
- Enforcement of EHS rules and regulations
- Support the Albea’s EHS directives
- Support site with ISO14001 & OSHA 18001 certifications
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma required.
- Strong secretarial skills are required.
- Good communication and computer use skills necessary.
- Excellent attention to detail

Ability to greet and handle all plant visitors and calls in an efficient, tactful manner. Must maintain confidential aspects of the position.
