Inventory Specialist
We are looking for an Inventory Specialist will support and work in the inventory department to participate in the order and flow of incoming and outgoing inventory. This position will support the goals of the inventory department and inventory manager.
This position requires positive, open, direct communication with associates, managers, vendors, and owners. Strong organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment is required.
The Inventory Specialist will report directly to the Inventory Manager.
Job Requirements
Ø Understanding, experience and/or familiarity with retail and inventory operations in a department or specialty store environment.
Ø Wholesale sales and inventory skills preferred.
Ø Strong technical skills including proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
Ø Positive Communication Skills and Professional Competencies.
Ø Understanding inventor, operations and merchandising principles and their application to the retail environment
Ø Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities
Ø Ability to work and communicate well in a team environment.
Ø Must be self-motivated and driven toward achievement of long-term goals
Job Duties
· Communicates and coordinates with appropriate vendors for special orders, returns and repairs.
· Participate in the ordering and flow of incoming and outgoing inventory.
· Pulls, prepares merchandise for return to vendor along with shipping.
· Receives product deliveries and distributes to appropriate departments.
· Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received.
· Inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments.
· Properly inputs received material into the system and forwards proper documentation to accounts payable. Invoices scanned to receiving log.
· Assigns SKU and tags incoming merchandise.
· Marks down merchandise, re-tags and assigns to new case location.
· Assists in merchandising display cases.
· Delivers special orders to customer service.
· Notifies sales associates and customers of merchandise received for their customers.
· Processes returned merchandise, trade-ins, and old gold according to company policy.
· Assists in preparation, execution, and reconciliation of physical inventory.
· Assists in researching and locating missing items.
· Input and Process purchase orders.
· Maintains job-related confidentiality.
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and managers.
· Assist with Check-in, Check-out Loose Diamond and Jewelry and record on Log Sheets.
· Assist with Daily Diamond Case Counts.
· Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.
· Maintains safe work environment according to all department procedures, federal and state regulations.
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs including sales floor and customer service assistance.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Sitting 70%•Standing/walking 30%
· Minimum lifting requirements of 30 pounds in order to accept equipment deliveries, and pack and unpack merchandise and supplies.
