Responsibilities:
- Decorate cakes according to customer requests and design specifications
- Create visually appealing and creative cake designs using various techniques and tools
- Ensure cakes are prepared and decorated in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cake decorating area
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a cake decorator or in a similar role within the food industry
- Knowledge of various cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant, and icing
- Familiarity with different types of cake designs and ability to replicate or create custom designs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling of food products
Skills:
- Catering skills: Knowledge of catering principles and ability to create visually appealing displays for events
- Culinary skills: Understanding of culinary techniques and flavor combinations for cake fillings and frostings
- Knife skills: Proficiency in using knives for trimming, leveling, and shaping cakes
- Food preparation skills: Ability to measure ingredients accurately, mix batters, and prepare fillings
- Packaging skills: Knowledge of proper packaging techniques to ensure cakes are transported safely
- Food handling skills: Understanding of proper food handling procedures to maintain freshness and prevent contamination
