The Role:
We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join our team covering Alternative Investments in our San Francisco office. The Portfolio Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support to the consultant team, assisting in the formulation of investment policies and guidelines, and making recommendations on individual funds, strategies, or general portfolio characteristics. This role involves working closely with the investment team to develop and implement investment strategies that align with the firm's objectives and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- quantitative and qualitative analysis of alternative investment opportunities, including hedge funds, private equity, real assets, and other non-traditional asset classes.
- in the due diligence process by evaluating investment managers, reviewing performance metrics, and assessing risk profiles.
- existing investments and provide regular updates on portfolio performance, including attribution analysis and market commentary.
- with the investment team to develop portfolio construction and asset allocation recommendations.
- and present analytical reports and findings to senior management and investment committees.
- informed of market trends and developments in the alternative investments space to identify potential investment opportunities or risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- CFA/CAIA designation is a plus, but not mandatory
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment analysis or portfolio analysis
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and research skills.
- Proficient in financial modeling and investment valuation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
