What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restorative Justice Coordinator position at Albuquerque Public Schools?
To design and provide general oversight of the Restorative Justice Grant activities and practices in Albuquerque Public Schools (APS).
- Implements, monitors, and supports restorative justice grant approaches in the District.
Applies restorative justice practices to encompass a wide set of strategies to proactively foster community, facilitate leadership, and a build social capital in the district.
Identifies and trains school administrators, teachers, staff, and other district personnel on restorative practices.
Oversees and coordinates grant components and guidelines while implementing restorative justice practices throughout the District. Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the grant goals to District administration, teachers, and staff.
Develops and guides the school Implementation Resource Team activities and programs at designated school sites.
Aligns and monitors program implementation and evaluation as specified by the grant.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports as required by the grant guidelines and APS.
Upholds fidelity and intent of the restorative practices of the grant.
- Bilingual.
Experience working in a public school setting.
Supervisory experience, including evaluation of employees.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in restorative practices, conflict resolution and/or mediation; or an Associates Degree and seven years of progressively responsible experience in restorative practices, conflict resolution and/or mediation; or a High School Diploma and 11 years of progressively responsible experience in restorative practices, conflict resolution and/or mediation.
Knowledge and understanding of the personal, economic, social, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds of students, staff, families, and communities represented in Albuquerque Public Schools.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity, ability to build relationships, establish collaborative partnerships, and work with a wide range of constituents with diplomacy and tact.
Highly effective communication skills, verbal, written, and technology based.
Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
A high degree of initiatives in approaching responsibilities and implementing institutional plans and goals.
