Alchemy 29 is comprised of three farms and a 67,000 SQFT Type 6 processing and manufacturing facility located in Lake County, CA. Our teams employ sustainable cultivation practices, including organic amendments and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), in our farming operations. We offer a full suite of cost-conscious manufacturing and processing options, white-labeling services. In addition, we offer three branded product lines from our pharmaceutical-grade laboratory and post-processing facilities (currently under construction). We are a Type 6 manufacturer and specialize in solventless products, pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls and packaged flower.

Job Summary:
The Director of Compliance manages all compliance across three farms and our 67k square foot processing facility. While ensuring that the company complies with the Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act. The Director of Compliance will oversee all compliance-related activities, including licensing, regulatory reporting, product labeling, and security measures. The Director of Compliance will be a key member of the management team and will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
The Director of Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and products. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of state regulations and the ability to develop and implement compliance policies and procedures. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure the company complies with the Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act.
- Oversee all METRC inputs and reports.
- Implement Backbone and cultivation third-party software into METRC.
- Work with accounting to ensure inventory is cascading to the correct reports in SAGE.
- Manage the licensing process, including applying for and renewing state and local licenses and permits.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by monitoring and reporting on changes in state regulations and implementing necessary changes to policies and procedures.
- Oversee compliance-related reporting, including monthly compliance reports and other regulatory filings.
- Develop and implement a compliant inventory control and tracking system.
- Ensure that all products are properly labeled and comply with state packaging and labeling regulations.
- Establish and maintain compliant security measures, including cameras, alarms, and physical barriers.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with state regulations.
- File timely reports and submit to the State Water Board compliance monitoring program for three farms.
- Respond promptly to any violations or incidents that may arise.
- Create, digitize, and implement SOP's for compliance monitoring.
- Train and educate employees on all compliance-related matters.
- Create lock-out tag-out measures for all automated equipment.
- Facilitate safety training for forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment.
- Create proper PPE compliance measures amongst staff.
- Ensure proper OSHA compliance is being met across all sites.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in software implementation and general IT skills.
- Familiarization with large, automated equipment such as Green Vault systems, Mobius, Whistler.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Law, or a related field. (Suggested)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role in the cannabis industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act and local policy.
- Experience managing compliance-related reporting and regulatory filings.
- Experience developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- The Director of Compliance will work in an office environment as well as onsite on the cultivation sites.
- The Director of Compliance may be required to travel to different locations to oversee compliance-related activities.
- The Director of Compliance may be required to work long hours to meet deadlines.
