Job Details
ALCIVIA is looking for a Grain Elevator Operator to handle incoming and outbound grain while ensuring grain quality and maintaining equipment and facilities.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure incoming grain is delivered efficiently and correctly
- Assist members with loading and unloading
- Greet members and thank them for their business
- Bin grain in anticipation of handling, blending, and loading out
- Store bushels properly, safely, and efficiently
- Load grain into semis or trains limiting demurrage and freight charges.
- Visually inspect stored grain and complete inspection reports
- Report any problems immediately and ensure they are resolved
- Check bin temperature and aerates grain based on weather conditions and moisture
- Blend grains as directed to achieve maximum grade and limit discounts
- Dry grain properly and safely and allow adequate room for wet bushels
- Maintain clean and organized grain handling facilities
- Monitor and maintenance equipment and report/correct equipment failures
- Observe closely local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations
- Attend safety training and safety meetings
- Report unsafe conditions or behavior immediately
- Answer customer questions and report customer complaints timely
- Always have a safety first approach
- Support cross-divisional collaboration whenever possible
- Help out in other areas of the business as bandwidth allows
- Other duties as assigned

Physical/Work Demands:
- Significant physical exertion
- Climb 30 foot bins, rail cars, and 100 foot grain legs
- Work on top of moving rail cars with fall protection
- Work long hours during busy season
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Work in grain dust
- Work in outdoor conditions
- Safety first mindset
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous grain handling experience preferred
- Agriculture background a plus
- CDL preferred (will help obtain)
- Clean driving record
