Position Summary

Alcon Industries, Inc. is seeking a Melter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a few years’ experience running furnaces in a foundry setting. The Melter manages the furnaces, pouring and regulating the flow of molten metal into molds in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions

• Control furnaces to melt metal prior to casting
• Mix different types of alloys, using correct measurements
• Load molten metal into furnace, using transfer ladle
• Read temperature gauges and observe color changes of metal
• Examine molds, making sure they are clean, smooth, and properly coated
• Remove metal from molds, using hand tools, cranes, etc.
• Transport cooled metal to storage areas, using forklift or other equipment

Required Qualifications

• At least 1-3 years' experience working with furnaces
• Experience with demanding physical labor
• Ability to communicate efficiently with coworkers and leadership

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
