We are currently looking for candidate who will serve as the Clinical and Medical Strategic partner for Business and R&D leaders and is a key leader in stakeholder engagement and alignment for strategic initiatives, innovation, organizational and talent development, and project execution.
The incumbent is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting of development and post-market approval clinical trials, as well as for developing and driving clinical and medical strategies across Pharmaceutical Technology Platform associated projects.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of the Clinical R&D organization through role on the Clinical R&D leadership team, including acting as a thought leader around clinical designs for pharmaceutical products
Contribute to the broader R&D strategies and priorities via roles on oversight committees and governance boards such as Protocol Review Committee and Scientific Governance Board
Reviews and approves clinical project strategies in support of new product development and marketed products
Review of clinical trial strategies to support approval and brand positioning
Manage resources within area of accountability and ensures sufficient resources allocated to effectively execute against approved plans
Develop Global Clinical and evidence generating team objectives in collaboration with Business and R&D leaders; monitor project progress; provide coaching to teams and resolve issues escalated from teams
Target activities at the needs and requirements of major customers and key stakeholders, e.g., Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), the medical / scientific community, patients, and Health Authorities, including post-market regulatory submissions
Generate clinical evidence aligned with Franchise strategy by helping to define appropriate endpoints and determine the most impactful patient and disease segmentation for clinical development registration and development and post-market approval clinical trials
Publish high quality and timely peer-reviewed medical publications
Develop unbiased, accurate, non-promotional content for standardized responses to customer inquiries.
Partner with R&D and Business Franchise leaders.

What you'll bring to Alcon
Education: Advanced degree at doctoral or equivalent level preferred, e.g., MD, OD, PhD
Language: Fluency (ability to read, write, understand, and communicate) in English
Minimum years of relevant experience: 12 years of relevant experience
Minimum years of demonstrated leadership: 8 years of demonstrated leadership
