Summary: The Host plays a pivotal role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for our guests. The Host is the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they walk through the door. The Host will manage reservations, oversee the seating process, and contribute to the overall efficiency and success of the restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and inviting atmosphere by warmly welcoming guests as they enter/exit the restaurant.
- Receive and manage incoming reservations effectively, especially during peak hours.
- Record reservation details accurately in the system and assist in managing guest databases and contact information.
- Organize and prioritize seating arrangements based on reservations and walk-ins.
- Optimize table turnover to ensure efficient use of dining space.
- Provide accurate wait times for guests and keep guests informed about the status of their reservation. Offer guests waiting areas.
- Assist guests with inquiries about the menu, special requests, or other information.
- Collaborate with servers to ensure a smooth and coordinated dining experience.
- Communicate table assignments and special requests to the serving staff.
- Keep the lobby or waiting area clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Recognize and acknowledge repeat or VIP guests by providing a personalized and attentive experience.
- Accommodate special requests or arrangements for celebrations, dietary restrictions, etc.
- Promote specials, promotions, or additional services to guests when appropriate.
- Handle credit card and cash transactions and process payments accurately.
- Manage takeout orders, coordinating with kitchen staff and ensuring timely pickup.
- Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and courtesy.
- Communicate effectively with restaurant management and other team members.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures related to guest services and hospitality.
Must Haves:
- 1 years in a Host role in a restaurant setting
- Ability to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7am - 2pm and holidays
- Knowledge of Reservation systems, OpenTable preferred.
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and manage multiple tasks.
- Customer-focused mindset with a dedication to providing exceptional service.
- Basic knowledge of restaurant operations.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Washington/Seattle Benefits Summary:
- Eligible to participate in company subsidized medical/dental/vision/life insurance within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30 hours per week
- Eligibility to participate in employee funded supplemental benefit programs, i.e., disability, within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30 hours per week
- Eligible to participate in 401(k) plan after six months of service and 1000 hours. The company will match 50% of employee contribution up to 4% of the employee's annual pay.
