We currently have an opening for a full-time Compensation Consultant to work with us on client projects. This position has the freedom to work remotely in the United States and provides support in the design, development, administration, and training related to client compensation programs.
- Client compensation programs may include the development of base pay programs, short and long-term incentive plans, sales compensation plans, executive compensation plans, career ladders, job families, job descriptions, competencies, custom salary surveys, and regulatory compliance strategies including pay equity and related data analytics.
- With limited guidance, benchmark client positions, and design and implement base pay plans, pay structures, job family levels, pay administration guidelines and policies, and linking pay to performance.
- Assist Senior Consultants and Engagement Managers with the design, modeling, and implementation of short-term or sales incentive plans, including using data to recommend targets and pay mix and modeling plan design to determine the cost and employee impact.
- Work closely with Senior Consultants and Engagement Managers to advise clients on the advantages and disadvantages of different compensation plan approaches.
- Develop robust tools that can be leveraged for multiple projects, such as cost models, market analysis tools, presentations, and training.
- Assist in business development and marketing activities, as requested.
- Participate in client meetings (virtual/online), as requested.
- Please note: August through December work hours will typically be heavy due to the annual compensation cycle of our client's businesses.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources designing, implementing and administering base pay and incentive programs.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Economics, or another quantitative field. Relevant experience may supplement or replace educational requirements.
- Robust experience with using and analyzing multiple salary surveys.
- Robust knowledge of the implications of government regulatory guidelines on compensation programs.
- Advanced Excel skills including v-lookups, pivot tables, and development of charts and graphs to support recommendations.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, research, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing data to make recommendations.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must have excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
- Possesses a learning and growth mindset.
- Self-starter. Works independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
- Enjoys problem-solving and creating and implementing new initiatives.
- Data orientation including experience building models and forecasts.
- Relational database, large data set, and systems orientation.
- Professional services consulting experience.
- Project management experience.
- Professional certification (PHR, CCP).
- Experience with compensation and salary survey administration software such as PayFactors, Salary.com, or Market Pay.
