Acara Solutions is hiring a ilab Sr. Desktop technician for our Stratford, CT based business partner.
Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work on-site of our customers in an end user support capacity providing exceptional customer service. Our Senior Desktop Technicians (Warehouse) will perform a variety of duties in support of end users for IT hardware and/or software. Under general supervision, this position may require collaboration with technical and managerial staff. Work methods and/or sequence of work is governed by oral/written instructions and established procedures.
Primary Task:
-Packing IT computer hardware and shipping to customers
-Working with our logistics people to schedule freight shipments
-Work with our ITC team to ship international shipments
-receive IT equipment in our P2P system
-The physical ability to move pallets with a pallet jack and to unbox computer equipment as it arrives
imaging computers, knowledge how to trouble shoot common PC issues, customer support) would be a plus.
Pay: $18/hr DOE
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 2 years demonstrating professional desktop support history with a variety of platforms / systems / applications and tools to include Operating system expertise - Windows, Unix/Linux, Apple, Network protocol and Image loading protocol
- 2 years LAN/NETWORK connectivity, and basic network connectivity assessment for troubleshooting or setups
- 2 years ICMS (Install, configuration, move, surplus) and network experience
- 2 years hardware, break/fix experience.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Evaluates and tests software programs to verify functionality according to specifications and standards
- Demonstrates excellent Customer Service
- Install and configure network devices (i.e. network printers, scanners, plotters, PCs, etc.). Troubleshoot problems with network printing and scanning devices. Perform data termination/ activation in telecommunication closets aka network connect (activation of data drops).
- Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops.
- Assist in the relocation of customer employees on the facility (move PCs and activate data drops in new location).Troubleshoot network issues with PCs and LAN (duplex mismatches, duplicate IPs, corrupt firewall software, proxy configuration issues, etc.)
- Assist with imaging of laptops and PCs for deployment.
