Overview
The position is responsible for ensuring consistent management of all proposals and contracts. This includes oversight of contract management process, as well as development of specific standards. The position drafts, reviews and negotiates a variety of contracts. In addition, is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Alex Lee, Inc’s. contract tracking system for legal matters. Also, assists in handling processing, and completion on a variety of contract documents requirements. Conducts legal research, review and document retrieval, as requested. Collaborates with internal business clients and attorneys on contract requirements. Conduct training on contracting process to internal clients as requested by legal.
Responsibilities
· Oversee organizational contract development and management activities, and enforce organizational principles of integrity and compliance
· Develop standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, general language and provisions
· Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations
· Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets
· Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and requirements, facilitate pricing discussions and obtain senior management approval on timeline and deliverables
· Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit Alex Lee’s financial performance
· Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues
· Provide guidance on contracts to staff, managers, and executives
· Work with Risk Management Department/Finance to coordinate contractual insurance requirements
· Work with finance to ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies, export controls, etc.
· Ensures that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained
· Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support proposal and contract development
· Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments
Qualifications
Must have bachelor’s degree, JD Preferred. Should have 5 years of corporate legal experience, including contract drafting, review and negotiation. Prior experience in the wholesale/retail industry is preferred. Prior experience in contract manager role. Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses. Experience in apply organizational standards when developing request for proposal, negotiating terms and drafting contract. Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills.
