What Success Means In This Position
This is a non-exempt level, part-time position. The Response to Intervention (RTI) Specialist is responsible for the push-in and pull out support in intervention instruction and/or adaptation of the instructional program. The RTI Interventionist will provide instructional strategies and interventions to Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 students.
Position Description & Expectations
● Develop and implement classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual children and groups of children to enhance their acquisition of social/emotional and cognitive skills
● Instruct identified at-risk students using RTI academic and behavioral best practices
● Gather and organize grade-level/subject area universal assessment tools and develop assessments for progress monitoring purposes for all teachers
● Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and administrative regulations
● Employ a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and performance assessments, which guide the learning process toward academic achievement and curriculum goals
● Facilitate the Student Support Team (SAT) process with the principal, support staff, parents, and instructional staff
● Work with the special education coordinator, school psychologist and SST to facilitate eligibility for special education
● Design collaborative systems with school leaders, teachers, and support personnel to support RTI best practices
● Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education, required
● 5 years experience with regular education and special education student populations, required (10 years, preferred)
● Ability to relate to children
