What you'll do
An opportunity has become available for a Systems Senior Engineer to join our Cloud, Client Services, and Innovation team under the Corporate Services business community: Human Resources, Office Services, Marketing, Legal, Finance, IT, Facilities, and Lead Management are the backbone of support to the teams of management consultants, enabling AlixPartners to continue to deliver critical thinking and results-driven solutions to its clients in high- impact and high-value situations.
In this critical role, you will support both internal and client-facing cloud-based platforms and systems. This position is responsible for day-to-day operational and technical support in systems and network engineering across all systems and platforms.
The CCSI Systems Senior Engineer reports to the Cloud Platform Delivery & Operations Director with a preferred location of Southfield, MI, Chicago, IL, or Dallas, TX.
- Lead in the design, deployment, and operations of AlixPartners' Cloud Platforms – including AWS and Azure.
- Drive firm initiatives with AWS cloud platform both as an individual as well as in team settings with internal and external partners.
- Provide day-to-day systems, server, and network engineering support functions for various systems and platforms, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory, various distributions of Linux infrastructure, and 3rd party application platforms. Participate with cross-discipline teams as necessary.
- Analyze, report, and advise on various systems and applications performance issues.
- Research and implement new Cloud tools to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Limit downtime on all environments
- Participate in the creation (or modification) of documentation activities related to system configuration, policies, and procedures.
- Acquire knowledge, via both formal and on-the-job training of the various 3rd party packaged software applications and custom solutions used to provide systems monitoring, management, and reporting within the Digital service offering.

What you'll need
- BS or BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field is preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Three (3) years' experience working in Amazon Web Services Platform with both their PaaS and IaaS offerings. Experience working with AWS in a "DevOps" role in an agile team setting – utilizing Git version control processes and automating/scripting environment deployments from Azure "DevOps" or GitHub Relevant certificates in AWS, DevOps, etc.
- Experience with automation/orchestration of AWS technologies.
- Experience working in and/or implementing "compliance" environments such as SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA, etc.
- Exposure working in Microsoft Azure infrastructure (or similar provider) useful.
- Progressive experience in supporting information systems implementation, support, and monitoring, preferably within (but not limited to) a predominantly Microsoft environment.
- Experience in large, production-oriented service operations with a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations with large data volumes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly research new platforms and issues.
- Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities effectively, adapt to changing circumstances to meet key deadlines under time constraints with high level attention to detail.

- Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
