Administrator job duties:
- The Administrator is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the facility, its programs, and activities.
- Oversees in the development and implementation of written policies & procedures (PP) that govern the operation of the facility.
- Directs department directors in the development and use of departmental PP and establish a rapport in and among departments so each can realize the importance of teamwork.
- Establishes policies that govern the resident’s right to qualify of life & care as defined by the resident’s comprehensive assessment & care plan.
- Review the facility’s PP with department directors and make recommendations to assure continued compliance with current regulations.
- Interpret the facility’s PP to employees, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as necessary or as instructed.
- Represent the facility at and participate in top level meetings.
- Defines overall organization structure.
- Assist the Infection Control Coordinator, and or Committee, in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job-related functions.
- Participate in facility surveys made by authorized government agencies.
- Monitor MDS data transmissions to ensure resident assessment data is transferred accurately and in a timely manner.
- Directs the implementation of the facility’s risk management program.
- Assist the QA and AC in developing and implement appropriate plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
- Oversee the planning of the facilities annual budget, work schedules, departmental meetings, training programs etc.
- Meet with department directors on a regular basis and conduct/participate in in-service training classes, on the job training and orientation programs to assure that current material and programs are continuously provided.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
- Ensure residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Required. A bachelor’s degree in business administration or health Administration preferred but not required.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or nursing facility.
- Must possess a working knowledge of nursing facility operational standards and requirements of participation.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must have advanced training in hospital or nursing facility administration.
- Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration (e.g. survey)
- Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications and other office equipment.
- Must have a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrators license or meet the licensure requirements of Illinois.
- Attends training, educational classes and meetings.
