Estimator - Glass/Glazing

All New Glass, a leading specialty glazing subcontractor, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the glass and glazing industry, with the ability to accurately estimate project costs, manage budgets and ensure project profitability. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize construction estimating skills to accurately assess costs for glass and glazing projects.
• Create comprehensive quantity takeoffs from contract documents.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure compliance with cost estimates for vendors.
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive rates.
• Accurately estimate the costs of materials, labor, and equipment for glass and glazing projects, ensuring all factors are considered.
• Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Prepare and submit detailed and competitive proposals to meet bid deadlines.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and complete project estimates to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documents.
• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new technologies to provide the most accurate estimates.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating within the glass and glazing industry is required.
• In-depth understanding of glass and glazing materials/products, installation methods and industry standards.

Technical Skills:

• Strong background in construction estimating, with a focus on glass and glazing projects.
• Proficient in Bluebeam, Smartsheet as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel formulas, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost estimation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and specifications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of estimating.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and contracts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
