What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at All Occasions Catering?
Must have a Vehicle & Valid Driver's License.
The Steward is responsible for maintaining, cleaning and detailing equipment etc. Also responsible for washing dishes, china, flatware, cutlery, crockery, kitchen vessels, sweeping and mopping floors. Maintains the kitchen, dish washer and back area in an inspection-ready condition in accordance with the Health Department and property guidelines.
Banquet/Event Steward Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, well maintained and organized.
- Adheres to all sanitation guidelines.
- Assists the Cooks and Caterers as and when necessary.
- Collects and removes trash/recyclables from kitchen area.
- Ensure dumpster area is kept clean.
- Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established procedures.
- Cleans and maintains floors and walls in kitchen and dish washing area by following standard procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes china, flatware and related service ware following established procedures.
- Cleans large equipment as assigned, following established procedures.
- Consistently adheres to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information related to the proper safe use of chemicals in the workplace.
- Knowledge and proficiency to operate mechanical dish washer.
- Ensure all Cambro’s are clean and in good working order.
- Check all chemical levels and inventory.
- Wipe (as needed), sort, stack and store all cleaned items in an organized and safe manner.
- If any breakage or chipped items are found, remove them from circulation and update Executive Sous Chef.
- Clean and sanitize workstation at the end of shift.
- Uses and maintains all equipment’s according to manufacturer and department guidelines.
- Report any maintenance or hazard issues to Executive Sous Chef.
- Assist in light food preparation as directed by chef on duty.
- Assist in plating and/or packaging food as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain atmosphere, cleanliness and staging of the back kitchen area.
