What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Alleghany Farm Services?
The Sales Manager plays an essential role in the strategic growth of Alleghany Services. Their main job purpose is to provide leadership to the sales team to ensure that monthly quotas are met. In this role, He/she will be a driving force in the company’s growth plan.
Priority Functions:
· Lead Alleghany’s sales strategy to meet aggressive growth goals
· Direct, manage, and encourage Account Executives to meet territory goals
· Communicate and evaluate KPIs and other business and industry trends
· Maintain and improve customer relationships to support sustainable, long-term, business growth and development
Basic Functions:
· Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands our customer base and extends the company’s reach
· Implement a sales orientation and training program to educate new hires
· Create and communicate sales goals, reporting on KPIs
· Evaluate and report on industry trends
· Lead weekly sales meeting
· Identify new markets
· Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to management with key performance indicators and results related to both closed business and anticipated new business within all territory pipelines
· Report on forces that shift strategic direction of accounts
· Work with Alleghany’s marketing team on all customer-focused initiatives
· Train all new account executives on Alleghany services, proper sales procedures, and expectations
· Act as a resource for Account Executives when needed to close jobs, including meeting with agricultural prospects and providing education on the benefits of Farm Drainage and the services that Alleghany can provide
· Attend trade shows, conferences, and meetings
· Develop and maintain good client relationships
· Remain compliant with defined company policies and procedures, especially as they relate to sales
- Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
- At least 5 years experience in a sales management role
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
- Proven record of sales management performance
- Excellent organization and communication skills with extra attention to detail
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel overnight when required
