What are the responsibilities and job description for the ATP Field Worker position at Allegheny County Department of Human Services?
The Field Worker is responsible for collecting data on encampments through a predefined route established by the county. The county seeks to collect this information to provide a regular understanding of the number of visible tents, changing trends in how many and where tents are located, and collecting information on any areas of follow-up that are needed. This role is part of a team committed to enhancing the County's understanding of the unsheltered population to improve how we best serve them.
The Field Worker will report to the Manager of Client Experience Analytics in the Office of Analytics, Technology, and Planning. He/she will walk, bike or use a scooter on a predefined route and use an existing survey collection tool to collect basic information about encampments.
This is a part-time, hourly position with up to a 10-hour work week. The hours are adjustable, but should be consistent week to week to make sure data collection is consistent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meets with their supervisor and other county staff on a weekly (or more frequent) basis to review information collected.
- Walk or bike a predefined route 2x/ week.
- Collect basic information and fill out a short survey (on an app) on each encampment 2x/week.

Education/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent, plus experience working in a business or human services setting.
