GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Provide a safe, healing environment for patients in Maternal Child Health and Mental Health areas
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily entrance and exit of visitors to the unit
- Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred for safety of the department
- Watches for and reports any irregularities such as unusual or suspicious behaviors. Contacts Security to deal with any criminal acts.
- Contacts Security with any occurrences that may require additional help or calls to police (or fire department) by telephone
- Determines if person is authorized to enter the unit. Permits authorized persons to enter unit. May wand visitors for contraband and explain unit visiting rules.
- Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.
- Respond to patient, staff and visitor needs in crisis situations in the Departments and all other areas of the Health Center in a timely and professional manner.
- Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
