Job Title: Part-Time After School Group Leader
Position Summary:
The Group Leader will work respectfully with children, families, schools and community in a strengths model approach and provide quality programming, a safe place, and strong connections with the schools. The Group Leader will implement age appropriate activities in the after-school program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement programs appropriate for school age groups.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the After School Group Leaders, staff, and youth, parents, and teachers.
- Recruit for the program.
- Integrate program with the Family Center.
- Participate in reciprocal relationships based on respect.
- Provide resources and referrals.
- Advocate for families and children.
- Be a strong member of the team.
- Maintain records and correspondence with teachers and parents.
- Provide accurate data for the MIS Data System.
- Help with center maintenance, clean up after the after-school program activities and insure Center is ready for next day’s use.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends when needed.
- Proven ability to work with limited resources.
- Must hold good communication and organizational skills.
- Capability to work with diverse groups and likes to work with children and their families.
- Knowledge of the school system operations.
- Assist with homework.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with some experience working with children and schools required.
- The ability to work with the parents, children, communities, and schools required.
- Ability to comply with the AIU Conduct policy
Additional Requirements:
1. Current Act 114, Act 34 and Act 151 required prior to an offer (Must be dated within 1 year of hire date).
2. School Personnel Health Record (Form H511.340) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
