Overview

Job Summary:

 

The Human Resources Generalist position is a key role within the Talent and Organizational Development team that supports the Human Resources Department. Primarily, the HR Generalist will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several key HR operations for ACS. This role will advise, collaborate with others, and coordinate activities related to performance management, employee relations, alternative work schedules, ADA accommodations, offboarding, data analytics and trends reporting, compliance, health & safety, and other human resources activities. 

 

The HR Generalist is an all-encompassing and comprehensive role requiring someone who enjoys planning and executing, excels at attention to detail and thorough documentation, and is dedicated to the personal and professional development of the organization’s people and programs. This position will demonstrate the highest level of integrity, convey confidence, inspire trust, and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. 

 

This experienced professional will be part of a people first culture and will lead by example supporting the Vision, Mission, and Guiding Principles for ACS.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

 

  • Works in partnership with employees and people leaders on topics such as performance management, employee relations, ADA accommodations, alternative work schedules, and offboarding.
  • Manages the AWS and ADA Processes.
  • Supports the Performance Development Process to include sending quarterly PD Check-In reminders, performing routine updates to the leadership dashboard, owning Calibration spreadsheets and reporting, supporting the HRBPs in quarterly/semi-annual Calibration sessions, and opening/closing quarterly review windows.
  • Leads the Offboarding Process to include conducting Exit Interviews, reviewing ESFs, overseeing asset return, consulting HRBPs with Exit Survey trend reports, etc.
  • Supports and works closely with the HRBP to resolve issues related to performance issues or employee concerns, provide data reports and trends analysis that support strategic initiatives, and respond to general inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports complex leave topics (i.e.: ADA, FMLA, STD, etc.) when escalated beyond standard processes.
  • Ensures HR resources remain current/up to date within the HRBP Playbook and company intranet.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to HR processes and procedures and collaborates with other Shared Service functions to enhance service levels to ACS employees.
  • Analyzes HR data, identifies trends, and makes recommendations that improve HR programs and processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, performance management, and employment law.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Other Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

 

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or equivalent, preferred (if not already certified, working toward certification).
  • 3-5 years of experience working in Human Resources.
  • Experience conducting investigations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR operations and administration required.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Employment regulations required
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strongly skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone) preferred.
  • Experience using PeopleSoft application is a plus.
