Summary:
The FP&A Analyst’s main function is to transform the overarching research division strategy into a long-range plan with annual operating and capital budgets. With the use of financial modeling, this position will forecast operating and profitability performance and set annual targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) This position will provide an annual budget to provide the executive management team a clear picture of future performance.
The Key Duties and Responsibilities the FP&A Analyst will include:
- Liaising with senior management, heads of departments and other key leadership figures.
- Preparing financial and strategic plans for individual research locations and the wider research organization.
- Building annual budgets and forecasts for different research studies and consolidating into one master budget.
- Analyzing past financial performance, preparing competitor analysis, and examining market trends along with commentary for management.
- Creating financial models to predict growth and forecast performance.
- Analyzing previous budgets and forecasts and performing variance analysis to explain discrepancies.
- Evaluating new and existing research projects, investments, and assets to determine their validity and appraise their value.
- Recommending improvements and use of financing structures such as debt and equity when appropriate.
