What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Analyst I position at Alliance?
REPORTS TO:
The Laboratory Analyst reports directly to the Laboratory Manager or Assistant Lab Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM).
JOB OVERVIEW:
A Laboratory Analyst (LA-I) is a bench chemistry professional whose main responsibility is to perform routine analyses in the designated air environmental laboratory. This includes logging in samples, preparing samples, performing analyses, and reporting results. The LA is responsible for following all documented procedures, recording all laboratory notes, and elevating technical issues to the laboratory manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Ensure that all samples received by the laboratory are logged in according to the appropriate procedure including labeling, logging, and acknowledging
- Ensure instrumentation is running, troubleshoot issues, and make or coordinate repairs as needed
- Perform analysis as requested on the required turnaround times
- Ensure all analysis is performed within the specifications of the appropriate SOP
- Provide SOP updates and details for corrective actions as needed
- Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general chemistry laboratory, or 2 years experience in an air laboratory (LA-I)
- Minimum 5 years experience in general chemistry laboratory or 3 years experience in air laboratory (LA-II)
- Master’s Degree in an Engineering or applied science discipline can substitute for 2 years experience
- Detailed knowledge of EPA Methodology desired – Specifically the following list:
- EPA Method 5, 17, 201A, 202, 30B, 26
- Familiarity with operation of HPLC, GC-FID, GC-FPD, SPEC
- Intermediate skill level (or above) in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external vendors
- Professional appearance and behavior
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Valid driver’s license
- Approved to be employed in the United States

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Alliance Technical Group provides a range of compensation for job postings within locations that have these requirements. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The pay range for this role is $20 - $23 per hour quarterly profit sharing bonus our comprehensive benefits package.
