We're looking for someone who is creatively analytical – who can think inside the box, and then blow the box up. The ideal candidate is part scientist, part sociologist. They'll be able to crunch data while empathizing with the human users behind the numbers. They will have an insatiable curiosity and a thirst for truth. They ask why before asking how. And, they will be able to communicate rock-solid rationales to support their ideas.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Create research plans and championing new research methodologies to better understand the behaviors and desire paths of our users
- Conduct user experience research activities like stakeholder interviews, focus groups, usability tests, task analysis, surveys, web analytics, heuristic reviews, and field research in order to understand the context in which target audiences interact with websites/web applications
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from analytics tools, survey results, and other channels to develop insights that inform UX decisions
- Translate insights and “light-bulb moments” into actionable plans
- Collaborate with designers, strategists, developers, and product teams to improve the consumer experience
- Must have a strong understanding of current standards of user-centered design to stay on top of evolving trends and best practices
- Develops strong, trusting relationships between the department and product teams, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution of large-scale implementations

Qualifications,Education, Experience & Certifications:
- Degree in related studies (Human Computer Interaction, Data Science, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Psychology, etc.), or equivalent real-world experience
- 3-5 years in UX Research/Usability/Analytics role(s)
- Track record of integrating user research into product designs and design practices
- Experience communicating with fast-paced, highly cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders
- Familiar delivering experience in agile and DevOps environments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated, client experience oriented and a strong team player
- Understanding of User Experience Metrics and Usability Best Practices
- Situational Adaptability: Demonstrates ability to evaluate and pivot based on new information to meet the needs of the situation
- Demonstrated ability to understand and influence the measurement of experience from qualitative and quantitative perspectives, and clearly connect this information to strategic and design solutions

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands:
Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction – prepare, provide and convey diversified information.
Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity – regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
