Allied Universal® is hiring a full-time Claims Investigator who specializes in NY Labor Law. Candidates should have at least 5 years of insurance claim investigative experience handling NY Labor Law, premises liability, automobile claims and other areas of property and casualty claims.. The candidate will conduct field investigations to assist our customers in validating legitimate claims as well as identifying suspect claims. This position will require a personal vehicle and travel throughout the assigned area.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review complex claims investigations independently.
• Perform complex claims investigations in the field in a professional manner
• Develop and document information on investigation or other projects as directed by writing clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports, memos, and letters.
• Develop Investigative Action Plans

• Conducting Field Investigations (scenes, written and recorded statements, photos, witness canvassing)
• Creating Scene Diagrams (as required)
• Working with Clients and Defense Attorneys
• Providing Testimony (when required)
• Traveling required in local region

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to be properly licensed as required by the state in which you currently reside.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience investigating NY Labor Law claims; including knowledge of NY Scaffold Law Section 200, 240, and 241.
• OSHA 10 experience preferred
• Experience conducting written and recorded interviews.

• Experience reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting claim documents (medical, public records, claim reports).
• A functional understanding of the insurance claim environment (red flags, coverage, liability, subrogation potential)
• Strong communication (verbal and writing) and people skills
• Must possess strong computer skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Suite, and the ability to learn new operating systems.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but substantial insurance related investigative experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.

• Preferred bilingual in Spanish
• Must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations PI Training/orientation course
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license
