Allied Universal® is hiring a Network Engineer II. The IT Network Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, ongoing support, maintenance, and deployment of corporate network infrastructure. This position tests, documents, and deploys network hardware and operating system patches, and may work with Developments teams in design of application network architecture. This position participates in the continuous monitoring of the network health and provides technical 3rd level support and training to Support staff and end-users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ongoing management and monitoring of the network infrastructure
- Planning, testing and deployment of network technologies such as servers, switches, routers, etc.
- Third level support for all technical issues
- Project planning and implementation
- Assist with maintaining network security
- Design, implementation and Maintenance of Firewalls, DNS, Gateways, On-prem VLANS/Azure VNets
- Coordinate and manage ISP circuits with various vendors
- Managing network changes within the corporate Change Management system
- Assist with network topology documentation based on ongoing changes due to various projects and Change Requests
- Maintain all network assets to ensure compliance with corporate standards and specifications, including installation of security patching and firmware updates
- Assist with projects from other divisions that impact network traffic and/or security
- Remain current on corporate standards and Standard Operating Procedures; identify and communicate with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders impacted by changes when applicable
- Perform LAN and Network configuration protocols to include wireless communications system and while maintaining security
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of network administration experience
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of ten (10) years of network administration experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in network administration
- Minimum of there (3) years of experience with Cisco Meraki, Cisco networking products, and Palo Alto firewalls
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with networking in a cloud environment
- Working exposure with Fortinet, Velocloud, VMWare
- Experience with Solarwinds in general (install, configuration, and usage for monitoring), and the Network Performance Monitor and NetFlow Traffic Analyzer add-ons
- Routing and Switching experience
- Experience with various VPN types
- Advanced network and systems deployment, management and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills; able to communicate with customers at all levels within the organization to understand needs and issues as well as explain resolutions
- Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
- Working on medium to large infrastructure environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced project management experience and use of project management
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Microsoft Azure experience
BENEFITS:
- Base salary $64,000- $74,000.00

- Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
- Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
