AMAG, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Senior Product Manager. The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the provision of professional and proactive product management for AMAG’s Symmetry Access Control solutions and to assist with the technical vision and development of our product and marketing strategy. Specific responsibilities include market development; coordination with sales; customers, software development, marketing, existing and prospective customers, and partners consulting engineers and consultants to provide technical expertise in the relevant product area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other Product Managers, customers, consultants, distributors, Integrators, and end users including development team member to analyze requirements and convert them to practical technical solutions
- Product planning and assignment of tasks and deliverables
- Maintain and develop technical expertise in the field of Physical Access Control systems becoming a leading source of knowledge for best practice, market trends and legislation
- Subject matter expert for assigned Symmetry Access Control products
- Responsible for production of technical documents including business and functional requirements specifications, technical datasheets, white papers, technical bulletins, and PowerPoint presentations
- Engage with internal stakeholders, such as sales engineers and technical support, to help design complex, integrated solutions for customers
- Provide internal and external product demonstrations, participate in industry conferences and trade shows to communicate the benefits and value proposition for each product
- Occasional communication with the media related to new/unique products
- Attend trade shows as Product Management representative to support Sales Teams in technical expertise
- Responsible for industry research to guide product direction, competitor analysis and market positioning
- Drive product lifecycle management from concept through launch to end of life of the product(s) across assigned products/product lines
- Work closely with Sales and Service groups to develop annual marketing plans and the strategies, tactics, and resources necessary to achieve product goals
- Work to improve the business processes and product quality and time to market
- Assess product development sprints and enhancement opportunities
- Work closely with VP of Product Management to support in activities to ensure all marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives and are an effective expenditure of resources
- Help to drive the product roadmap and communicate with all stakeholders
- Develop innovative ideas, solutions and products through leadership and decisive action
- Ensure products adhere to regulatory obligations/regulations
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business administration
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience as a product leader
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the physical security industry
- Direct experience with access control software
- Experience driving New Product Introduction (NPI) Process into an organization and driving change within cross functional teams to implement new processes
- Technical experience and/or understanding of software programming/scripting languages
- Detailed understanding of software integrations and the various integration components, such as databases, APIs/SDKs
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational issues with (portfolio management, risk management, etc.)
- Able to formulate and implement global strategies for products
- Customer-centric mindset with the capability of translating that into the product development process.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of the user experience and design
- Strategic and creative thinking skills; ability to craft go-to-market strategies and campaigns in collaboration with marketing
- Able to distill product roadmaps into digestible and relevant presentations to key customers and partners.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, technical documents, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to effectively present information to upper management and public groups as necessary both in written and oral formats
- Ability to work independently and make independent decisions
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, marketing, business administration
- Qualification in subjects such as Product Management, Product Marketing, or Agile Development
- Direct experience with access control software
- Specific experience with any of AMAG’s products
