Fleet Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet Manager performs many organizational and management tasks to monitor, maintain and improve the company's transportation processes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
• Vehicle Accident or damage POC for Company and Insurance Broker
• Driver safety/defensive driving implementation and management
• Maintain Fleet maintenance/inspection records
• Manage DOT required reporting
• Manage and implement GPS tracking
• Fleet to include trailers, mobile units, labs and any other registered vehicles
• POC for vehicle accidents and repair coordinator for insurance purposes
• Monitor Recall.gov
• Managing vehicle licensure and registration
• Manage and track driver files (CDL, Medical cards and license)
• Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress
• Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in logistics or similar
• 3 plus years of relevant experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
• Basic math and data analysis skills
• Familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software
• Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed
• Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
