JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Manager performs many organizational and management tasks to monitor, maintain and improve the company's transportation processes
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
- Vehicle Accident or damage POC for Company and Insurance Broker
- Driver safety/defensive driving implementation and management
- Maintain Fleet maintenance/inspection records
- Manage DOT required reporting
- Manage and implement GPS tracking
- Fleet to include trailers, mobile units, labs and any other registered vehicles
- POC for vehicle accidents and repair coordinator for insurance purposes
- Monitor Recall.gov
- Managing vehicle licensure and registration
- Manage and track driver files (CDL, Medical cards and license)
- Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance and fleet progress
- Developing methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in logistics or similar
- 3 plus years of relevant experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Expert knowledge of best driving, delivery, vehicle maintenance and other industry practices
- Basic math and data analysis skills
- Familiarity with transportation scheduling and management software
- Understanding of basic vehicle mechanics, including the ability to identify when major repairs are needed
- Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities
