Allison+Partners, an award-winning global public relations agency is looking to add a rockstar GM to our team. We are seeking a high-energy, super organized and detail-oriented professional to oversee all aspects of the office including business development, client management, employee mentoring and office operations. You will be responsible for sourcing new business, maintaining clients with your top-notch client service skills, mentoring and managing employees while fostering an environment where team members will thrive. Our ideal candidate excels client service and has the ability to successfully drive teams, project manage and thrive in an integrated team environment.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
· Business development: As the senior most person in the office, the GM is responsible for defining and maintaining A+P’s brand within their market, positioning the firm as the go-to resource for clients needing PR, public affairs and all marketing/content services. S/he is expected to proactively maintain a robust new business pipeline that speaks to the agency’s various practice areas, develop a roster of in-market contacts to help with lead generation, and participate in local networking and marketing opportunities.
· Client management: The GM is responsible for leading a book of business, often with a SVP or VP serving as the day-to-day senior counsel. This role will be responsible for ensuring that his or her respective account teams are meeting the business and communications objectives as well as identifying growth opportunities. The Los Angeles GM is expected to maintain regular contact with existing clients, meet with them in-person on a regular basis to further build and nurture a strong relationship.
· Staff development: The GM is responsible for nurturing a professional, entrepreneurial culture consistent with A+P values and providing leadership and professional mentoring to staff. The general manager is also responsible for recruiting and retaining high-caliber professional talent and should be vested in the health and welfare of all employees. As the leader of the office, the GM leads by example, setting the tone for the office’s management team and ensuring that the office meets the agency’s core values.
· Office management: The GM is responsible for developing a business model to harmonize public affairs and public relations in the office. It is expected that the general manager will run the office as a business and understand the necessity of constant growth and making decisions aligned in the best interest of the company. As such, related growth plans, monthly updates to global partners, revenue reconciliation, etc. are required.
Requirements:
· BA or BS
· 15+ years of experience that is a blend of in-house and agency work
· Strong client and/or vendor management skills
· Consummate networker with a strong list of local and national contacts
· Proven business and financial acumen
· Proven ability to grow existing clients and add new clients
· Supervisory role in previous positions
· Genuinely enjoys the thrill of the chase with regards to new business and leads proactive lead gen and new business development efforts accordingly
· New business and presentation experience
· Extraordinary multitasking skills, including being able to calmly triage several requests from staff, overhead, and others simultaneously.
