What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator (2nd Shift) position at AllStaff?
Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
· Know and observe all safety rules and maintain all guarding of equipment.
· Maintain the high-Quality standards including the cleanliness and organization of the surrounding area and the associated equipment.
· Must be able to read prints, drawings and perform setups using measurement instruments such as a steel rule, caliper, plug gages, laser scanner, micrometers, fixtures, and other measurement instruments to check parts.
· Provide calibration sheets weekly and at other times as needed for verification of laser operation.
· Works independently and coordinates with other departments such as Scheduling and Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality and Tool Room staff.
· Utilize best operating practices to efficiently operate the machine and execute set-up.
· Work towards complete knowledge of equipment to ensure full utilization as well as possessing the ability to effective troubleshooting of the equipment.
· Able and willing to accept training on and off-site in order to fully utilize capabilities of the equipment.
· Maintain accurate and legible records for production, quality, maintenance and keep a log at the machine.
· Execute excellent maintenance practices on the cutting nozzles to keep it in good working condition, keeping focusing lens clean, and laser beam focused and centered at all times.
· Maintain inventory of spare parts.
· Works with Supervisor to maintain proper scheduling in order to maximize the utilization of the Laser machines.
· Be willing to train and become a capable backup for our automated equipment such as our Hydromat Hub Production.
· Be able to work flexible hours and work over time as needed to maintain the needs of production and meet training schedules.
· Provides information on problems and potential solutions through analysis of schedules, capacities, inventory levels and various reports.
· Be an active participant in continuous improvement projects.
· Able to successfully navigate through various machine software programs to effective operating of the machines and create static and dynamic nests for Amada and Salvagnini lasers.
· Critical thinking is a must to be successful in operating the machine and to effectively utilize the Laser equipment including the machines automated loading and unloading capabilities.
· Ensure that daily and weekly operator maintenance is performed as required and documented.
· Able to operate a fork lift truck to load and unload machines.
· Must be able to run more than one automated machine at a time.
· Set goals with Supervisor and Management and continue to look for ways to improve quality and productivity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
