What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Crossing Guard position at Alltech Security Solutions?
Total of 3 hours per day, split shift before school starts and after school.
You must be a resident of Montebello.
THE POSITION: Escort school children safely across designated intersections, and perform other related work as required. Guard works approximately four (4) hours per day, which includes morning, lunchtime and afternoon.
Examples of Duties
- Guard street crossings during hours when children normally are going to or coming from school.
- Direct actions of children and traffic at street intersections to ensure safe crossing.
- Escort children across streets.
- Report hazardous conditions to supervisor.
Typical Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Basic rules of pedestrian safety.
Ability to: Read, understand and apply safety rules and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with children.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Keep a steady pace in crossing the children in a timely manner that ensures safety to the children as well as the motorists.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee stands for extended periods of time, walks, talks, and listens. Must be able to get to assigned location. Works predominately outdoors and may be exposed to variable weather conditions, traffic and noise. Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule during the day. Requires specific vision abilities, good speaking, and hearing ability. Will be required to work while schools are in session. Must be able to stand and use arms, legs and back to lift or move objects. Will be required to perform frequent walking and prolonged standing. May lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
