The Opportunity
Primary responsibility of this role is to support the Ally Insurance Field Sales Organization and channel strategies through field-related reporting, operational efficiencies, and data management. Core job functions include all development, maintenance, and enhancements of the production reporting environment used to evaluate dealer incentives and sales performance. Outputs include enterprise-wide dashboards, self-service reporting tools as well as the reporting infrastructure used for control validations, ad hoc reporting and analysis.
The ideal candidate must possess a high technical capability and strong leadership behaviors. Must be passionate about delivering accurate results, possess an inherit curiosity and willingness to quickly learn, adapt and explore new leading-edge technologies, must be an innovative, strategic and creative problem solver, and must have demonstrable experience with the automation of reports (i.e. dashboards with drill-in capability)j, query logic (i.e. SQL), and some familiarity with various coding syntaxes (i.e. DAX, Proc SQL).
The Work Itself
- · Service the sales organization to support corporate objectives
- · Develop and maintain reporting infrastructure to gauge performance and perform analytics
- · Maintains monthly, quarterly, and yearly routine reporting deliverables
- · Works closely with business leaders and team members and provides insight for the development and integration of new technologies, tools, and processes
- · Communicates with matrix partners and stakeholders to communicate findings and raise high risk issues to management
- · Executes with management oversight on special projects and completes ad hoc reporting requests
- · Provides technical and analytical support to the team members
- Ensures data validity, accuracy of results while adhering to compliance policies and procedures
The Skills You Bring
- · Bachelor's degree in business related field, concentration in Information Technology or Analytical Science preferred
- · 2 years of analytics, system and/or report development experience preferred
- · Experience with relational database concepts and query syntaxes like P-SQL or T-SQL (Oracle, Python or SSMS)
- · Experience with AWS or Azure Snowflake platform a plus
- · Experience with business intelligence reporting tools like SAS, Power BI highly preferred
- · Experience with MS Power Query and Visual Basic highly preferred
- · Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, etc. and standard Enterprise systems
- · Ability to provide advice/direction in primary areas of expertise
- · Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- · Proven ability to perform in-depth analysis and clearly report findings
- · Knowledge of dealer insurance products preferred
- Ability to figure out solutions to problems with little supervision
