The Opportunity
Ally Lending is a high-growth, technology-based point-of-sale lending unit within Ally Financial. This position plays the critical role of translating Ally Lending's business strategy into an actionable product and platform roadmap. Through lean-agile prioritization, coordinated planning, and delivery, this Product Manager will enable the organization to deliver enterprise solutions that enhance client and borrower experiences, drive profitable growth across segments, and actively manage credit and operational risk.
A key player in strategic planning and product lifecycle management at Ally Lending, The Product Manager leads by analyzing performance, understanding our customer and competitive landscapes, and partnering across the company to manage strategic initiatives and bring new products to market. This position will play a pivotal role building and growing impactful and scalable products designed to support the financing needs of the world's largest retailers and manufacturers.
The Work Itself
- Align product vision and capability enhancements to business strategy & client needs
- Identify customer needs and develop solutions within the context of the overall product & business strategy
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering and Operations to facilitate solutions in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including product ideation and definition, UX design, build and launch
- Lead business case analysis and roadmap development at the initiative and feature level, considering the needs of borrowers, merchants and partners, balancing the interests of risk, compliance and operations stakeholders
- Manage the initiative and capability backlog and prepares enterprise solutions for capacity-based planning, prioritization and implementation
- Analyze and optimizes product performance against established KPIs
- Partner with Finance, Pricing and Underwriting leaders to ensure profitability of the product set and credit portfolio; ensures product offers meet the enterprise credit strategy and risk profiles
- Drive definition of done and acceptance criteria at the initiative and feature level to drive organizational and resource alignment, requirements elaboration and preparation for development
- Lead cross-functional teams and enterprise projects from ideation, intake and planning all the way through delivery and post-deployment monitoring; managing stakeholder routines, executive communication and channel readiness activities
- Manage multiple priorities concurrently, including self-executed deliverables and requirements executed by other teams
- Contribute to team success and team dynamic with strategic solutions and recommendations, building consensus with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Own solutions by presenting recommendations with supporting rationale and being accountable to timelines, organizational capacity and project needs

Experience / Education:
- Bachelor's degree required in Finance or other related field
- Microsoft Office suite of products; application lifecycle management tools (such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally)
- At least 4 years of experience as a product manager, owner or strategist in consumer lending / financial services, digital channels or B2B/enterprise software, ideally in an Agile delivery model
- Experience working with CX researchers and/or UX designers
- Experience with software supporting risk, underwriting, pricing, accounting & finance functions are a plus
- Experience with modern web services and API are preferred
- Spoken and Written English required; Written and spoken Spanish a plus
