The Opportunity
The Sr. Risk Analyst position supports the Business Line Risk, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Team of Ally Lending. The primary focus of this role will be executing multiple elements of the RCSA framework in alignment with the RCSA Standard, (which includes but is not limited to: scheduling and leading execution sessions, taking meeting notes, reviewing and challenging the risk exposure and mitigating controls, evidencing robust review and challenge through detailed notes). This role will be hands on requiring someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment across multiple cross functional areas including Operations, Provider Risk, Sales, Product, and Finance. Responsibilities include collaborating with Ally Lending business line partners, Operational Risk Management and Business Line Compliance colleagues to manage follow-up actions including tracking, escalating, and documenting operational risks and the applicable control environment. We want a team member who will look for ways to challenge the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes with a focus on operational risk, enterprise and regulatory compliance, and fair consumer practices. This position offers an excellent and challenging opportunity to apply risk management principles to a consumer lending business that is a subsidiary of a large financial institution. This role will report into the Ally Charlotte Center location.
The Work Itself
- Executive various deliverables for RCSA Program
- Assess existing RCSA inventory and cross-reference with respective business line procedures for each function
- Schedule and lead execution session with business line process owners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
- Document detailed notes of execution session outputs including risks identified, risk ratings, emerging risks, controls identified and associated ratings
- Prepare risk assessment materials for reporting and dissemination
- Input Self-Assessment data in GRC tool, archer
- Work with business on ongoing initiatives to develop recommendations for process control improvements
- Understand, comply, maintain, and reinforce regulatory and firm policies and procedures/guidelines
- Assess existing RCSA inventory and cross reference with respective business line procedures for each function
- Continue to grow with the Risk Department as the business line evolves
The Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of related experience (e.g. RCSA, testing and monitoring, risk management, compliance), preferably in financial services or similar industry
- High-level of critical thinking, problem-solving capability, and researc-oriented skills
- Ability to manage several priorities and deliver timely results
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint required, Power BI is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Archer is a plus
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills (personal, written and presentation) and the ability to work cross-functionally
