Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. The Opportunity

At Ally, we have a passion for AI. We are seeking a talented Specialist - Data Scientist - to join our AI and Advanced Analytics enablement team. In this role, you will collaborate with model developers, data scientists, and risk partners to help onboard models to the model platform. You will be instrumental in the evolution of MLOps at Ally. You will serve as a trusted advisor to analytical teams across the Enterprise. You will be a change agent and the voice of the customer. You will support AI platforms and tools and enable next generation analytical outcomes responsibly at speed and scale. You will further enhance our dynamic culture though our data literacy and democratization initiatives, such as by providing training informed by best practices. You will assist business partners with migrating and refactoring as information technology continues to modernize and systems evolve. You can break down and organize complex ideas, leveraging strong written and verbal communication skills, and hone presentations to target audiences with varied capabilities and experiences. You possess a robust data and analytical background with strong, hands-on problem-solving experiences. You are comfortable learning new technologies and systems, gaining or possessing business acumen, and being a subject matter expert. You have a great work ethic, deliver results on multiple projects with an attention to detail by working with internal and external partners, and can innovate with a customer-service mindset. You will be a member of a cross-functional agile AI platform and enablement squad with the mission to understand, design, deploy, and maintain end user solutions.

The Work Itself

  • Interfacing with analytic teams to understand their needs and use cases
  • Understand end user needs, define functional requirement
  • Act as customer during design, UAT testing during deployment
  • Develop & deliver user training for analytics, gather feedback from interactions
  • Provide consulting to enable analytics involving analytical tools and data platforms
  • Facilitate the migration of analytics from legacy to next generation tools and platforms
  • Enable analytics by developing data, reporting, and analytical solutions
  • Enable analytics through collaboration and facilitating interactions and providing x-as-a-service
  • May interface with senior management to convey information.
  • Onboard new analytical tools (e.g., DataRobot)
  • Configure data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS)

Skills

The Skills You Bring

  • BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • At least 1 year of analytical experience
  • Experience with SQL and Python; R, SAS, JAVA, and scripting are a plus
  • Experience with Snowflake (Snowpark, Streamlit, Cortex) is a plus
  • Experience with AWS (Sagemaker, S3, EC2, Lambda) is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization, testing, quality, and preparation of analytics end products
  • Proven success working with business stakeholders and supporting their needs
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated ability to take "inventor mentality" to solve open ended problems
  • At least 1 year of experience working in the Auto Finance, Banking, or Financial Services sector is a plus
  • Comfortable conducting end user training, creative direction, teamwork, and time management as well as Agile methodologies
