What are the responsibilities and job description for the R&D Intern position at ALPHIA?
Alphia is searching for a summer intern in our R&D department at our Ogden, UT location! This role will help support multiple Food Scientists in their day-to-day responsibilities. This role will gain real world experience in the pet food industry and will give the selected intern a path forward into the industry.
Essential Job Duties:
- Developing pet food formulations
- Creating technical datasheets
- Assisting in new product prototyping
- Assisting in R&D task of performing trials, pulling data and shipping samples.
- Interact on customer calls and internal calls with cross functional members of the Alphia Team.
- Answer questions in tandem with the Food Scientists regarding issues with ingredients, suppliers or other vendors.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least a 2.75 GPA in a science field (biology, chemistry, food science etc.)
- Must have completed their sophomore year.
- Must have drive to learn and have independence to take direction and work independently.
- Must have a love for pets!
