What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Planner position at Alstom?

Alstom has an opening for an Engineering Planner. The Engineering Planner is responsible for the engineering content of project schedules and materials (during bid) by collaborating with engineering teams to generate and maintain detailed engineering tasks, duration, and resource requirements. His/her deliverable flows up to overall project schedule on selected projects and tenders. On tenders, responsible to prepare the engineering material and schedule with métier estimators and managers. On projects, responsible to generate the engineering schedule that is consistent with the overall project schedule while identifying risks and blocking points of on time delivery. Responsible to ensure that schedules allow for accurate Engineering Delivery Performance metrics.
Resonsibilities:
Engineering schedule construction and continuous update in collaboration with engineering teams and managers
Generation of Bid Materials with use of current tools, while adding efficiencies with future tools
Support engineering team in achieving their commitment to the engineering schedule
Support PrPM in identifying critical path & to communicate assumptions, risks, and mitigation plans
Identify blocking points regarding commitments while proposing solutions and following up on the implementation. Escalate as necessary
To facilitate the communication between the engineering team and the project core team
To communicate engineering team project priorities and Project schedule modifications
To promote and drive an On Time culture within Engineering Teams
To be able to generate, analyze and report Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
To ensure stringent follow up, monitoring and root cause analysis on EDP Performance
To assist in reviewing Engineering workload data to identify gaps and update as necessary
To support BTM to develop engineering schedule on tenders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 10 years experience in Transportation
Minimum of 10 years of Railroad domain working experience
Desired Characteristics:
Strong organizational skills
Strong tools abilities, i.e. Excel etc.
Solid oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to establish and maintain good customer relations working across all diciplines
