We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven HR intern to assist our California HR team with HR related tasks along with providing supporting to HR Business Partners with HR related projects as needed. The position is based out of the Los Angeles location with occasional travel.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and Maintain HR Compliance Knowledge
- Begins to develop a current knowledge of HR Laws and Regulations.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the HR field.
- Develops a working knowledge of HR information databases and searchable resources.
- Keeps abreast of Document retention requirements
Pursue an Attitude of Learning and Development
- Attends meetings with HR Business Partners.
- Cultivate interpersonal skills
- Develop negotiating and public speaking skills
- Foster time management skills
HR Related Tasks
- Track progress, deadlines, and priorities of all projects
- Prepare Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
- Proofread HR documents including audits, marketing information, and handbooks.
- Provide support to recruiting efforts and onboarding of new employees as necessary.
- Properly handle HR requests through responsiveness, follow-up, and escalation.
- Provide assistance to HR Business Partners on various HR initiatives including engagement, diversity and inclusion, attrition.
- Provide support for gathering and/or maintaining HR data and dashboards.
- Maintain a satisfied level of customer service with clients both internal and external.
- Handle HR requests and deliver quality solutions if able, or escalate the request to a more senior team member Openly share new ideas and information with other team members. Keep other team members
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people
- Strong customer service skills
- Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
- Ability to correctly make decisions involving client issues/ problems including when to escalate the problem to a more senior HR colleague.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.
- Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team oriented environment.
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail
As our ideal candidate:
- Completion of at least two years of post high school education in the field of human resources (pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Administration or similar majors).
- Strong desire to pursue a career in the field of human resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act in a professional manner.
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be mobile after graduation from Bachelor's program.
- Ability to travel within Southern California as necessary.
Salary Range: $23-25 (Hourly Rate)
